The Government of Mexico formed a new research team to clarify the disappearance of the 43 students from Ayotzinapa, a case that has shaken the country and the world since 2014.

The team is comprised of the Attorney General's Office and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection and will focus on the use of advanced technology and scientific data to advance investigations.

For his part, Vidulfo Rosales, lawyer for the students' families, stressed that this inter-institutional group seeks to reconstruct the research methodology and give greater relevance to the case, while complaining that the Secretariat of National Defense refuses to provide key military files to clarify the facts.
