Mexico called on the international community to pay attention to the tragic situation in Gaza

This Monday, during a peace summit in Ukraine, held in Switzerland, the Republic of Mexico urged the International Community to pay attention to the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip.

“We cannot talk about peace and here we join South Africa, not to mention other humanitarian tragedies, such as is taking place in Gaza, International Law and the Charter of the United Nations must be respected in all cases, otherwise we may end up in a situation where the world was in 1939,” said Alicia Bárcena, Secretary of Foreign Affairs.

The countries that abstain from signing the declaration are Brazil, India and South Africa, which together with Russia and China are part of the group of emerging economies, known as BRICS+, in addition to Mexico.
