The government of Claudia Sheinbaum assured that it is prepared for the arrival of deported compatriots from the United States (USA), with the implementation of the strategy “Mexico embraces you”, which includes the installation of 10 care centers.
The Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, the centers that remain empty - are located in the border states of Baja California (two), Sonora (two), Chihuahua (one), Coahuila (one), Nuevo León (one) and Tamaulipas (three).
Rodríguez reported that people will receive personal hygiene kits and the repatriation letter, and will have access to the processing of identity documents, temporary accommodation (with heating, towels, beds, blankets and other items), food, free internet service and drinking water.
“Our compatriots left their land to seek better life opportunities in the United States,” said the head of the Government and emphasized that “they are not criminals and contribute both to the economy of Mexico and to that of the neighboring nation”
Last Monday, Sheinbaum reported the arrival from the United States of four thousand 94 deported people, most of them compatriots, from January 20 to 26, a figure that, he specified, does not represent a substantive increase compared to other weeks.
