This Tuesday, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, reiterated her country's historic stance against all forms of foreign intervention in Venezuela, amid growing rumors spread on social networks and some international media about a possible military operation in the nation.

During her morning conference, the president stressed that Mexican foreign policy is governed by the constitutional principle of non-intervention and the defense of the self-determination of peoples, and she assured that this will always be the line of her government.

“We will never be in favor of the intervention of a foreign government in a sovereign country. And I repeat, it's not even just out of his own conviction, but that should be the position of any president of Mexico, because it's in the Constitution,” he stressed.

President Sheinbaum also referred to the circulation of unverified versions of alleged U.S. military movements in the Caribbean.
