Mexico registers 123 active forest fires with more than 50,000 hectares affected

More than 4,300 volunteers from CONAFOR and other bodies are deployed

The National Forestry Commission of Mexico (CONAFOR) reported that at least 123 active fires have been reported in the country, noting that there are fire sources in 28 of the country's 32 states and added that they have been able to extinguish around 31 fires.

In addition, in a statement, he indicated that more than 4,300 volunteers from CONAFOR and other bodies are deployed to contain forest fires.

The agency asked people who try to voluntarily join firefighting, “not to face the fire if they do not have adequate training, training and equipment to avoid putting their lives at risk.”

The states with the most active fires are Chihuahua, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Morelos, Durango and Sinaloa.
