This Monday, the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, vetoed the Retirement Mobility Act, approved by Congress, which establishes an increase in the income of pensioners.
Through an official decree, Milei pointed out that this legal instrument “would entail an additional expenditure for the National State of approximately $6,160,000,000,000 for the year 2024 and $15,430,000,000,000 for the year 2025.”
According to what was published on the Telesur web portal, for the president's decision to be rescinded, Congress must add votes by qualified majority. If successful, the project will be approved and the Government of Milei will be obliged to enact the law.
More than 50% of Argentines live in poverty due to the ultra-right measures of the Milei Government.
