MinAguas opens drinking water well in Sabanetica to benefit more than 11,000 inhabitants in Portuguesa

As part of the actions aimed at strengthening public services, this Tuesday, August 4th, a drinking water drill was inaugurated in the Sabanetica hamlet, a project built completely from scratch to guarantee the vital supply to more than 11,000 inhabitants of this rural area belonging to the Ramón Peraza parish in the Portuguese state.

The infrastructure is 72 meters deep and has a 30 HP engine, allowing quality water to be brought to families suffering from severe supply problems, details a local press release.

This new catchment source is in addition to the drilling and commissioning of six wells executed in just four months through the Plan La Fiesta del Agua in the municipality of Páez. Thanks to these major projects, more than 23 million liters of water have been added to the Acarigua distribution network, directly correcting the deficit of vital liquid in several communities that had been without regular service for more than a decade.

In addition, the authorities began construction of the aqueduct that will supply the communities of 7 de Octubre and Nueva Revolución. This work will respond to a 15-year cry on the part of the population, making it possible to ensure formal and continuous access to drinking water for more than 3,000 additional inhabitants of the sector.
