During episode No. 8 of the Maduro Podcast, the
Minister of Popular Power for Women and Gender Equality, Dheliz Álvarez,
pointed out that, traditionally, historiography sought to show a
distorted image of the Liberators, presenting them as “weak, defeated, imprisoned”.
Álvarez indicated that women's participation in the
independence era was invisible, “erased from history.” In that regard, she said
she was happy that women's participation is being vindicated in our
independence quest.
The minister announced that as part of this vindication process, the remains of Eulalia Buroz left in a beautiful and heartfelt caravan from Anzoátegui and arrived at the National Pantheon.
“Her story is extraordinary,” he said.
