The Minister of Indigenous Peoples, Clara Vidal, highlighted the high participation of indigenous peoples who came out to exercise their right to vote.

“Our people demonstrate once again that Venezuelan democracy is unique. The political participation of our indigenous peoples is historic in Venezuela, 26 years of recognition,” said Vidal from Delta Amacuro.

He also indicated that more than 4,200 community meetings were held in different indigenous communities, in which spokespersons, spokespersons and representatives of the youth were chosen.

“This is a true participatory democracy, with joy, with love and there is no doubt that the Bolivarian Revolution has a flag and that flag is the recognition of our indigenous peoples,” he added.

He affirmed that the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez is still more alive than ever and one proof of this is that our indigenous peoples have a voice and vote. “The Bolivarian Revolution is still standing and moving forward with the great support that President Nicolás Maduro has given us.”

The minister said that indigenous peoples have the fundamental characteristic of the Commune, they live in community and “we have to be an example”.
