From Araure, Portuguese state, Minister Coromoto Godoy held a meeting this Monday with more than 30 exporting companies, producers of coffee, mung beans, and manufacturers of medical and optical equipment, including four communal companies with export potential.
This meeting with the productive sector of the country's first agro-industrial state complies with the Bolivarian Economic Agenda and aimed to promote a joint agenda to strengthen non-oil exports in the context of the Admirable Challenge Plan 2026.
The head of the Foreign Trade Office, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of International Trade Policy, Johann Álvarez, stressed that, at the close of 2025, the country's non-oil exports grew by 70%, while in Portuguesa they registered an exponential increase of 168% compared to 2024.
Godoy recalled that last year the phytosanitary protocol was signed to export mung beans to China, so he specified that the last steps are currently being taken to register companies with customs, which will open up the huge Chinese market to this Venezuelan product. It should be noted that in Portuguesa alone, 100,000 tons of this category are produced annually.
The minister also reaffirmed her interest in working with the incorporation of communes into exports, under the seal of the brand “Hecho en Comuna”.
The meeting was attended by the representative Cirilo Salas, the Secretary of Economic Development, Vicente Boscán; the head of Foreign Trade of the Government, María Cortez; the president of the Venezuelan Coffee Corporation, Josmary Borjas; and the representative for Latin America of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Mr. Cao Guojun.
