Minister Franklin Cardillo: Major League Baseball empowers talent

The Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, led the official presentation of the sixth season of the Major League of Professional Baseball, whose purpose is to continue strengthening the development of Venezuelan players.

The 2026 season will mark a milestone in the history of the championship, becoming the largest to date with a total of 70 matches, with innovations such as the addition of two additional imported players during the playoffs, in addition to the seven allowed in the regular round.

The tournament, which this year pays homage to former grandeliga Omar Vizquel, will be held from April 18 to July 12, with the participation of eight ninths, including the current champions, Samanes de Aragua, who will seek to revalidate the title.
