Minister González López: FANB ratifies commitment to strengthen the Territorial Defensive System

From the Courtyard of Honor of the Ministerial Headquarters, the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, G/J Gustavo González López, together with members of the Military High Command, presided over the ceremony of Recognition of the Commanders of the Integral Defense Operational Zones (ZODI), Large Units and Zone Commands of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).

The event is carried out in strict compliance with the strategic lines dictated by the President and Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Delcy Rodríguez.

He emphasized the importance of having highly trained chiefs at the head of the regions.

He announced the appointment of the new ZODI commanders belonging to the eight Strategic Regions: REDI Capital, REDI Central, REDI Occidental, REDI Los Andes, REDI Los Llanos, REDI Oriental, REDI Guyana and REDI Maritime and Insular.

“Our Operating Zones are the beating heart of national security. With these new designations, we guarantee leadership with immediate response capacity, absolute loyalty to the Venezuelan people and maximum operational effectiveness in every corner of our country,” he said.

As part of the strengthening of the Territorial Defensive System (SDT), he instructed the operational and technological modernization of all tactical units of the FANB, aimed at raising operational readiness to 21st century standards.

“From the first day I assumed this very high responsibility of leading this Ministry, I have maintained with great unwavering conviction that the defense of Venezuela requires not only the strength of our morals and our patriotism, but also the constant evolution of our tactical and operational capacities,” he stressed.
