Implementing challenges that promote reading, the return of young people to classes and awareness of the dangers posed by social networks, proposed the Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, to the student leaders who participated this Tuesday in the X Congress of the Venezuelan Federation of Middle Education Students (FEVEEM).
“If there are challenges on TikTok, I give them a challenge, put it on social networks: Whoever manages to get more girls and boys to be incorporated back into the education system, that is a worthwhile challenge,” added Rodríguez from the Gran Colombia Educational Complex, in Caracas.
“Student leadership must discuss these issues. Due to network challenges, two children died (...) Social networks are a danger for you,” Rodríguez insisted.
In addition, according to a press release from the Ministry of Education, Rodríguez asked middle school students to help him meet the five objectives set by the National Government and the educational office: One hundred percent of children and young people in schools; ensure compliance with the class schedule; have the full staff of teachers required; discuss and define educational quality and rebuild and strengthen management in schools and high schools; as well as promote the school of family.
The minister explained that another flag of student leaders is to defend public education. “That is the main fighting flag of a student movement. Sometimes, when you have a right you think it's forever, no, you have to keep taking care of that right, because it can go backwards,” he stressed after recalling the achievements that have been achieved since the social struggle in recent decades.
