With the objective of strengthening nature tourism, the Minister of Tourism, Leticia Gómez, led a working meeting with experts in birdwatching from Spain, with a view to establishing strategic alliances that position Venezuela as a favorite destination for this specialized practice.

In the context of the 46th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), Fabián Pasariello from Luxembourg and the Spanish biologist Luis Fresilla, delivered a project for the practice of this activity, which is positioned in some countries. This meeting was joined by the president of the Venezuelan Association of Travel Agencies, Vicky Herrera, and representatives of the Venetur Mérida and Juniotel hotels, key players in the routes that are already running in various states of the national territory.

During the meeting, Pasariello highlighted his enthusiasm to learn about Venezuelan potential, while Fresilla said that Venezuela has a privileged biodiversity for sighting. This assessment comes after his participation in the last World Birdwatching Congress in Mérida, where a proposal for wildlife photography was also presented, according to the Ministry of Tourism press.

At the close of this third day of FITUR 2026, the Venezuelan delegation, together with the private sector, has held nearly 200 business meetings.

These alliances seek to strengthen the exchange of experiences with international tour operators and position Venezuela as a benchmark for sustainable tourism and nature.
