The Bolivarian Government is carrying out the restoration of the Transport Museum whose works show an improvement of 57% in its entirety and 90% in its first phase.
This was reported by the Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca, who stressed that the restoration of the Transportation Museum is due to the efforts made by the Bolivarian Government to conserve the national and cultural heritage of Venezuela.
During his participation in the program Café en la Mañana, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, Lorca explained that it is a very large space, it is 3 hectares, “we have 15 fronts of work working simultaneously”.
“We don't have an estimated completion time since new things are being added due to the restoration processes,” he explained.
However, he said that it is expected that between April and May the facilities will be renovated by 100%.
To carry out the respective renovations, the Cultural Heritage Institute listed an inventory to facilitate the task of a group of restorers, who renovated a series of vehicles, including locomotives corresponding to the Táchira Railway, Maracaibo Railway and the Great Railway of Venezuela. “We worked with historians and restorers, giving it a new order and initiating new exhibitions,” he added.
In addition, he indicated that exhibitions will be installed based on particular periods, which would begin with indigenous transportation through waterways, more than 500 years ago, followed by the era of horses and carts, steam machinery, hydrocarbon-based internal combustion vehicles and finally the Metro and train systems inaugurated by the Bolivarian Revolution.
For the locomotives, he reported that a courtyard alone will be created, “it's time for this space to become a reference again for all Venezuelans.”
