This Saturday, June 21, starting at 2:00pm in the afternoon, young people from Venezuela will begin the meetings at the more than 40,000 Community Councils throughout the country, to debate, propose and nominate the community projects that will be elected on July 27, in the municipal elections and the Popular Consultation for Youth.

This was reported by the Minister of Popular Power for Youth, Sergio Lotartaro, in a telephone interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), where he announced the deployment of communication for young people to locate the Community Council in their area where he will hold the assembly.

“After that assembly that we are going to hold on Saturday (...) we are going to prepare to make a very beautiful, very colorful campaign, on the way to choosing what would be the seven projects on July 27,” Lotartaro summarized.

He invited young people to lead a massive, participatory and enthusiastic campaign, to then encourage and “fall in love” with the population to vote in the July 27 election and participate in choosing the seven main community youth projects that will boost the activity of new generations in the territory.

More than five thousand Trainers

He said that four thousand young people, out of a goal of five thousand 338, have already been trained at the Antonio José de Sucre International Leadership School, to be the facilitators of the Communes.

It is expected, calculated, that in the next two weeks the total goal will be met to deploy these young people who will be responsible for bringing that knowledge to the Communes, about what a Community Council is, what a Commune is, what a project is and how the process of shaping community needs is being carried out to future popular consultations.

“We as young people feel deeply responsible for what will happen within the territory in the country's Communes and Communal Councils, because we want this consultation to be excellent and to tell President Maduro that he was not wrong when he decided that the first sectoral consultation should be for youth,” he stressed.
