Minister Ñañez: In São Paulo, there was a debate about the narratives imposed by the media in the West

The Minister of Popular Power for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñañez, specified that a total of 170 delegates gathered in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, where the new ethics of journalism in the Global South were discussed.
This was stated in his speech in the radio space Con Maduro Live de Repente, hosted by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
He explained that among the topics discussed, is “how to overcome Western narratives that impose themselves as owners of the main traditional media; the need for balanced development, overcoming technological asymmetries”.
The also sectoral vice-president of Communication and Culture, Freddy Ñáñez, said that China “generous in the democratization of its knowledge, proposes to take the lead in new communication technologies for the South, respectful of the human being and married to the truth.”
He also noted that the need to create training systems for children and adolescents in the efficient and ethical use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) was also raised and a permanent group was formed that will articulate a network with the public media to build better communication systems.
