The Minister of Foreign Trade, Coromoto Godoy, held a working day with the governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal and a representation of more than 70 businessmen from the Andean productive sector.

From San Cristóbal, Godoy said that this year will give an unprecedented boost to non-oil exports, according to a press release from the Ministry of Commerce.

He also stressed that the business sector is a fundamental ally for the country's economic development.

For his part, the regional president formally handed over to Minister Godoy the diagnosis of the exportable supply of the state of Táchira.

This document constitutes a real map of the entity's potential, designed to facilitate commercial intelligence and optimize the search for international destinations for high-quality sectors in Tachira.

In the context of the conference, which also included the participation of the head of the Arauca Chamber of Commerce of Colombia, as part of the border integration, Godoy announced that in March the Unified Protocol for Non-Oil Exports will come into force, a legal instrument that simplifies and standardises the operations of leaving Venezuelan products to the world.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade presented the progress made in the implementation of the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), a project developed in collaboration with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

After listening to the interventions of local businessmen, the authorities reaffirmed their commitment to give continuity to these technical tables. “We take note of each proposal and stay tuned for future work meetings,” Godoy concluded.
