The Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, during a telephone contact with the state television station VTV, confirmed the control of the fire that occurred after 6 in the afternoon, at the Ezequiel Zamora railway station, in La Rinconada, Caracas due to an attempt to sabotage the service by fascist sectors that seek to create anxiety in the population.

“We want to report what happened in the electricity room at the Simón Bolívar station of the Ezequiel Zamora railway, which we have no doubt was an act of sabotage considering that we have recently maintained all circuits, plants, and infrastructure in optimal condition, so we assure that this fire was the product of sabotage,” said Velásquez.

He stressed that thanks to the efficiency and promptness of the Caracas Fire Department, this fire was controlled at the La Rinconada station, on the Caracas-Valles del Tuy railway, generated by sectors of the extreme right that want to create unrest in the population.

He also reiterated that in the coming days the evidence and those linked to this attack against the mass transport service in the capital will be presented.

“We denounce a new act of sabotage in the public services of our town; a fire in the electricity room of the IFE's Libertador Simón Bolívar station, a fact that we categorically repudiate because it threatens the welfare and transportation service of the population. Investigations will begin to determine responsibility for this event. There will be justice!” , he ruled.
