Roads in Caracas and the states of La Guaira, Miranda, Aragua, Falcón, Carabobo and Yaracuy were affected after the earthquakes of June 24.

The Minister of Transportation, Jacqueline Fanía, explained that the Caracas-La Guaira highway was inspected to certify its conditions and daily monitoring is maintained through the placement of witnesses to evaluate if they have movements.

Faria explained that 58 bridges have been evaluated and only Sur-Caraballeda 2 was disabled, leaving Osorio and Caraballeda I operational, where preventive maintenance and dredging of the San Julián River are carried out.

In addition, the La Lucha bridge in Catia La Mar is maintained with partial restriction while its rehabilitation is being carried out, while through the corporation Together Everything Is Possible and the Road Maintenance Company (ENVIAL), the tunnels were inspected in the same area, without detecting damage so far.

The minister, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), indicated that landslides occurred on the old Caracas-La Guaira highway and the road from La Costa to Puerto Maya, which were treated. On the road to Chuspa and Chirimena, they also detected four edge faults that will be corrected.

In addition, in Caracas, the greatest impact occurred in the Valle-Coche, where columns were reinforced and work was carried out that recorded an increase of 70%. The Caracas Metro and the Metrobús are still operational, with the exception of the Metrocables, which will undergo an exhaustive inspection.

The Transportation Authority stressed that on Local 4, the road that connects Caracas to Colonia Tovar, Aragua, there were two edge faults and the collapse of a gabion wall, which are affected by technical teams. Likewise, various works are being carried out at kilometer 117 of the Centro Regional Highway (ARC).

On the other hand, in Falcón, several bridges were damaged: the Boca de Yaracuy, which remains with restricted traffic, and the Paují Norte and Pava Norte bridges, with ongoing rehabilitation works.
