Minister Padrino: Amnesty proposed by the President in Charge is an act of reconciliation

The Sectorial Vice President for Defense and Sovereignty, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, this Saturday, February 14, ratified his support for the amnesty proposal of the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, defining it as a necessary step towards human coexistence and national reconciliation.

The also Minister of People's Power for Defense, through an audiovisual shared on his Telegram channel within the framework of the Day of Love and Friendship, reflected on the emotions that move society and the importance of moving from conflict to peace.

He stressed that, although love and hate are often seen as polar opposites, both arise from the same human intensity. However, he warned of the destructive consequences of resentment.

In that sense, he affirmed that “hate is nothing more than a fire that consumes the one who guards it, while love is the force that allows us to let go of the weight to start over; that is why forgiveness becomes an act of love and very liberating the soul”.

He specifically referred to the amnesty proposal presented by the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, clarifying that this initiative goes beyond the administrative sphere to become a tool for collective healing.

He stressed that the amnesty does not seek to invalidate the mistakes of the past, but to strip them of their capacity to harm the present.

“It doesn't mean validating what was wrong, but deciding that pain will not ruin the present, it's not erasing the memory, but making the memory stop hurting (...) accepting scars as part of the nation's life map,” he said.

Padrino López emphasized that national peace depends on the ability of citizens to live together despite differences, using love as a “pivot that defines humanity”.

“Love can do anything! May human coexistence live through forgiveness, oblivion and reconciliation!” , concluded, extending congratulations to all the Venezuelan people on the Day of Love and Friendship.
