Minister Padrino López: Silos La Flecha activated for the collection of strategically important cereals

The Minister of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Vladimir Padrino López, inspected this Monday, September 7, the infrastructure of the Silos La Flecha facilities, in the Portuguese state, to verify compliance with phytosanitary conditions and the proper functioning of the modules for receiving and conditioning the production of rice and corn, corresponding to the winter of 2026.

On his account on the social network Instagram, he reported that “the harvest of the winter 2026 cycle began and began with Portuguesa. And with it, the effort for the correct collection of cereals of strategic importance for Venezuela's agri-food sovereignty.”

“That is why we are here, to monitor first-hand the proper functioning of the silos, transport, reception, weighing and all other technical processes that will allow us to store more than 2.5 million metric tons of cereals, produced by the resilient effort of the hardworking hands of our producers for subsequent incorporation into the domestic market, and finally placing it on the table of the Venezuelan family,” he said.

He said that “I wish them a lot of success. May we all win, but may our country especially win. Long live the reborn Venezuela!”

In a video that accompanies the publication, Padrino specified that the Ministry of Food, the National Superintendency of Agrifood Management (SUNAGRO), the National Institute for Integral Agricultural Health (INSAI) and the National Company for Silos and Storage Systems (ENASA) are participating in the deployment.

He said that with the different actors in the agri-food chain, work groups have been set up to make the cereal harvest a success, “so that this is a win-win relationship”.

He also highlighted the capacity and resilience of Venezuelan producers and farmers and assured that both those from Portuguesa, Guárico and 15 other cereal states will be guaranteed the harvest of the winter harvest.
