Minister Padrino López: The Fatherland is standing!

At the award ceremony to military and civilian personnel who participated in the defense of the Homeland, on Saturday, January 03, the Minister of People's Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, asserted that “a military objective has been achieved, but the Fatherland is standing. Everyone who draws their own conclusions.”

In his words, he stated that “it is necessary to name things by their own name and that is why we must say that Venezuela wanted to be humiliated, but not (...) Venezuela wanted to be attacked in its spirituality and Venezuelanism, but not (...) Venezuela wanted to be humiliated and attacked in its honor and dignity, but no.”

In this regard, he stressed that “our Homeland has been attacked and the legitimate president of this nation, Nicolás Maduro, who is our Commander in Chief, has been kidnapped.”

“Today we are doing an act of faith and wisdom, because our men and women of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), faced with overwhelming technology and an overwhelming amount of uneven means against Venezuela, gave up their lives. There are 47 men and women of the FANB, including nine women who have complied with the Fatherland, with history and our national sovereignty. Honor and glory to the heroes and heroines of January 03, 2026", he said.
