Minister Padrino: National Plan for the Characterization of the Cattle Herd begins on August 24

The Minister of People's Power for Agriculture and Lands, Vladimir Padrino López, said that Venezuela is moving steadily towards certification as a country free of foot-and-mouth disease and announced the activation of the National Plan for the Characterization of the Cattle Herd, starting on August 24.

“We held a videoconference with governors and regional authorities to activate the National Plan for the Characterization of the Cattle Herd, a strategic operation to strengthen food sovereignty and to know exactly how many animals we have, where they are and what their productive and sanitary conditions are,” he explained through a publication on his Telegram channel.

The Minister emphasized that the success of this plan lies in territoriality: “The direction is national, but the execution will be by state, municipality by municipality, parish by parish and unit of production per unit of production, under the leadership of governors and governors.”

He stressed that mayors, Territorial Agricultural Units, the National Institute for Integral Agricultural Health (INSAI), the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), unions, universities, communes and producers will also participate.

“The mass deployment will begin on August 24, with registration, georeferencing and digital technology to build an updated, verifiable and useful national base for vaccination, traceability, planning and international certification. It will be a titanic task, but we will achieve it. Let's go!” , he added.
