Minister Posani: More than 40,000 families have been incorporated into the Single Housing Registry

This Monday, August 17, the Minister for Habitat and Housing, Paola Posani, asserted that more than 40,000 families have been incorporated into the Single Housing Registry, a digital mechanism that allows us to know in detail the characteristics of the families affected as a result of the earthquakes in June in Venezuela.

In this regard, he specified that housing allocations to families will be granted through this instrument, which is a digital system that crosses official data and applies priority technical criteria to ensure a transparent process aimed exclusively at those who have proven damage to their homes.

During an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he clarified that this mechanism does not correspond to an annotation list, but to a record kept in all the affected states.

He indicated that the allocations are made through a team made up of the Presidency of the Republic, the Social Vice Presidency and the Ministry of People's Power for Habitat and Housing, which reviews records weekly and establishes priorities. Among them, he mentioned families with illnesses, children with disabilities or other vulnerable conditions.

Posani highlighted that the register incorporates georeferencing, which makes it possible to identify the structural state of each house. “The assignment is shielded,” he said.

He pointed out that the system crosses information with the identity card, the Patria Card, the Autonomous Service of Registries and Notaries (SAREN), among others, to prevent unaffected people from trying to access housing intended for those who were damaged by the double earthquake.

He also stated that, although the Ministry for Habitat and Housing recognizes the need to address the vegetative growth of the population and historical housing debts, the current priority is to guarantee housing solutions for families affected by the seismic event.
