The Minister of Popular Power for the Communes, Ángel Prado, emphasized that they expect more than 3 million young people to participate in the first National Popular Youth Consultation on July 27, whose date also calls for suffrage to elect mayors and legislative councils of the 335 municipalities of the Venezuelan territory.

“Some three million young people between 12 and 35 years old will participate in the National Popular Youth Consultation and, that vote, will have tables set up so that every elderly person can also vote for youth projects,” he said during an interview on the program A Pulso broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.

He added that at the youth meetings this Saturday, June 28, proposals will be made for seven projects that will then be uploaded to a system enabled by the National Electoral Council (CNE). “The conditions will be created to enter the electoral campaign phase, promote projects and ensure that this National Popular Consultation of Youth has the greatest mobilization in all the processes we have ever had,” he said.

He assured that by January of the year 2026 there will no longer be talk of “communal circuits”, but of “consolidated communes” and, in that sense, it would remain to work on the organization of what the structure and dynamics of the communes implies. He added that currently “70% (of the projects approved in the Popular Consultations) have been completed. However, there are communes waiting to resolve structural problems and there is great progress in their execution,” he said.
