Minister Velásquez: More than 800,000 people mobilized Simon Bolivar airport in 2025

The Simón Bolívar International and National Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, has mobilized more than 800,000 people so far in 2025, as announced by the Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, during an interview on the 360 program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.
“The two airports and the general aviation airport, for this time of year, have mobilized 813,000 passengers, from January 1st to the present time and carry eight thousand passengers daily, and by this date (Holy Week), it is expected that around 10 thousand to 12 thousand people will be mobilized per day, that is, it is expected that more than 70,000 passengers will pass through Holy Week alone,” he said.
In this regard, he stressed that the most requested destination by users for Holy Week is Margarita Island in the state of Nuevas Esparta. In the same way, he highlighted that another place highly requested by passengers is the state of Zulia.
“The first destination is Margarita Island because of its beaches, because of its living nature, which is the first tourist destination in our country, and in the second option are those that go west, Maracaibo is the second destination to which the most flights depart, also to the state of Bolívar,” he added.
In turn, he indicated that there is a mobilization throughout the country both air, land and water, through the mobility of waterways, which is currently growing steadily.
