This Thursday, October 30, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, held a working meeting with the Promoting Team of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, my Beloved Homeland, in the former San Carlos Barracks, recently transformed into the “Ali Primera” House of Freedom and Culture.

At the meeting, Villegas highlighted the importance of this new space as a point where “historical memory and culture can converge”.

He also shared with those present a message sent by President Nicolás Maduro, who invited them to “occupy these spaces with music, theater, dance and other artistic events”.

For its part, the team that promotes the Great Mission Viva Venezuela mi Patria Querida proposed the planning and carrying out of joint cultural activities in a sustained manner with the participation of the country's experts.

The day was attended by former guerrilla fighters and fighters Lídice Navas, Humberto Vargas, Héctor Rangel and Rafael Yépez, who highlighted the importance of this place in the country's armed struggle during the sixties, seventies and eighties.

In addition, they emphasized that culture can coexist with historical memory and armed struggle, and that cultural manifestations also fight for the construction of socialism.

The House of Freedom and Culture Ali Primera was formally handed over to the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, My Beloved Homeland by President Nicolás Maduro last Monday, October 27, marking a milestone in the country's cultural and heritage policy.

This emblematic space is projected as an epicenter for the promotion of diverse cultural manifestations and Venezuelan traditions.
