This Saturday, the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, through his Telegram channel, valued the meeting with foreign ministers in Mexico within the framework of the Human Mobility Meeting on the Northern Route of the Continent.

Gil appreciated the opportunity to speak with his Mexican counterparts, Juan Ramón De La Fuente; Honduras, Eduardo Enrique Reina; Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez; Colombia, Luis Gilberto Murillo; Haiti, Jean Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, and Guatemala, Carlos Martínez, as well as with vice-ministers and senior officials from El Salvador, Brazil and Belize during the closing of the meeting.

“In our final statement, we have reaffirmed our commitment to managing irregular migratory flows in a humane and responsible manner,” he said, adding that “we have also expressed our firm opposition to external aggressions affecting the economies of our countries, which often leads to forced migration.”

Likewise, the foreign minister stressed that from Venezuela, “We firmly believe that migration should be a viable option and not a pressing need.”
