Ministry for Culture promotes technical brigade to evaluate heritage affected by earthquakes

The Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC) and the Venezuelan Cultural Heritage Network are promoting the creation of a multidisciplinary brigade to evaluate the heritage structures affected by the double earthquake of last June 24.

This was announced by the MPPC through its Instagram account, in which it noted that the initiative was presented during a meeting led by the Minister for Culture, Raúl Cazal, and the president of the Institute of Cultural Heritage (IPC), Dinorah Cruz, together with the architects Vidal Cisneros and Fabiola Velasco, with the purpose of coordinating technical actions for the diagnosis of buildings.

He also indicated that the brigade will be composed of professionals who graduated from the Master's Degree in Restoration at the Faculty of Architecture of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) and will be supported by the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Habitability, Housing and Infrastructure.

In addition, he noted that the team will be responsible for carrying out specialized evaluations that contribute to the preservation and recovery of cultural heritage affected by earthquakes .
