Around 4,800 forest and fruit plants were planted in the Unare Basin of the Anzoátegui state, as part of the reforestation campaign being carried out in the country to commemorate the International Day against Climate Change.
The planting of these specimens was done with the support of Misión Árbol, CONARE (National Reforestation Company) and the ecosocialist councils, in an area of 10 hectares on a farm dedicated to agroforestry in the Santa Fe indigenous community of the Píritu municipality, according to a regional press release.
The regional director of the Ministry of People's Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), Yamil Saleh, said that this is the third day of planting that takes place in this area impacted by agricultural and mining activity.
These actions will continue to be carried out in different parts of the entity with the participation of volunteers and officials from the ministerial portfolio.
