Ministry of Ecosocialism rescued 163 wild specimens in Anzoátegui during 2025

A total of 163 specimens of wildlife were rescued during 2025 by the staff of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC) in the state of Anzoátegui.

MINEC, on its account on the social network Instagram, provided a balance of the animals that managed to return to their habitats thanks to the attention to complaints about illegal possession and trafficking.

The director of the entity's environmental portfolio, Yamil Saleh, explained that among the specimens served there are 106 reptiles, 36 mammals and 21 birds.

He specified that 82.82% of the animals (135) were returned to their habitat; 8.58% (14) have undergone or are undergoing rehabilitation processes; 4.30% (7) of exotic fauna (African albino hedgehogs) are institutionalized and the other 4.30% (7) died due to the conditions in which they were at the time they were rescued.
