BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA
Ministry of Popular Power for Education ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear educational community:
First of all, we send our deepest condolences to all those who were surprised by this great catastrophe and lost their loved ones. We know that there are not enough words, but we want them to know that there is a country that feels empty, shares their sadness and is willing to accompany them in whatever is necessary.
To the teachers who, in the midst of chaos and their own pain, are there for their community: thank you. They are the perfect proof that to serve education is to build unbreakable bonds full of humanity and that school is not a wall but life itself.
To our children and young people, who saw their schools, their homes, their routine crumble, who lost their dear family members, we know that fear has so far taken over many aspects of their lives, but we also know that they have surprising strength and a tremendous capacity to rebuild themselves in the midst of adversity. You are not alone, we are here for you.
We also want to express our gratitude to all the rescue groups and volunteers who support hope, as well as to the teams that support the temporary camps, including our always supportive mother cooks.
Meeting the school calendar, which was essential for us just a few weeks ago, was overthrown by so many other priorities. The dates, the moments, the evaluations, everything can be reorganized, we have the capacity and we have the will. Based on this, we have designed some strategic lines that will help us in the adjustment process.

Guidelines for the continuity of schooling for the year 2025-2026
The magnitude of the disaster generated by the double earthquake that struck our country on June 24 forced the national State to take immediate actions focused on guaranteeing the physical integrity of students and teachers. In this regard, school activities were suspended in disaster areas, in order to respond to the emergency and in a preventive manner in unaffected areas.
In the affected areas, the priority continues to be comprehensive care for communities, social-emotional support and a comprehensive review of infrastructure. Whereas, in unaffected places, the undisputed priority is the continuity of learning, also socio-emotional support, as well as moving towards the integration of risk management as a subject of study.
The Ministry of Education is forced to adapt schooling to current circumstances and readjust the current schedule. Below are the steps to be taken:
• Those unaffected states whose infrastructure has no visible damage will restart administrative activities on Monday, July 6. The purpose will be to resume school activities to guarantee the right to education without compromising the safety of students and teaching teams, in infrastructures that did not suffer major damage (a proposal for reorganization of the calendar is attached).

• Activities in the affected municipalities are still suspended. In these cases, we will wait for the rescue work to be completed before determining the administrative procedures that must be completed to close the current year. The municipalities in which the suspension is maintained are the following:
Aragua: Santiago Mariño, Girardot, Ocumare De La Costa De Oro and Tovar. Caracas: Liberator. Miranda: Chacao, Brión, Buróz, Páez, Andrés Bello and Pedro Gual. Baruta: El Hatillo.
