Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture announces that the sardine ban will be extended until March 15, 2026

In the state of Sucre, an assembly was held with authorities from the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, to begin the ban on Sardine, starting on December 15 and running until next March 15, thus complying with the fundamental measure for the conservation of the hydrobiological resource.

During this meeting, fishermen, businessmen, marketers and transporters from the entity participated to learn about the mandatory start of the ban, which prohibits the marketing and transportation of Sardine.

According to regulations, the hydrobiological resource Sardina during the season can only be used as bait for other fish, having a specific size, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture reports in a press release.

Compliance with this ban is mandatory and necessary to guarantee the health of Sardinian banks.
