Ministry of Fisheries deploys attention to fishing ports in La Guaira

The Minister of Popular Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, inspected the coastal areas affected by the double earthquake of last June 24 and its aftershocks, focusing specific efforts on the Caraballeda and Playa Verde axes.

The head of the fishing portfolio described the structural damage as being of great magnitude, but ratified the commitment of the national executive to recover all the productive infrastructure of the entity, according to a press release from the ministerial portfolio.

During his second consecutive visit to the Playa Verde community, the minister highlighted the role of seafarers and grass-roots organizations in the contingency. Loyo sent a message of calm and prevention to fishing communities, emphasizing the safety guidelines issued by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez.

“Here, what we have talked about with the fishermen is to maintain the preservation of life . We insist on that message given by President Delcy Rodríguez: to preserve life, to save life, because the material will be recovered safely,” said the official.
