Ministry of Health operates on children with cleft lips in Barinas

In a joint effort, the Ministry of Popular Power for Health and the Sonrisa Foundation carried out the operation of ten children with cleft lips and cleft palate in Barinas.

This is a specialized surgical day carried out in the operating rooms of the Center Clinic, a venue that provided its spaces as part of a social responsibility action aimed at low-income families, according to a press release from the ministerial portfolio.

The president of the Sonrisa Foundation, Ricarte Ruiz, commented that this activity represents the beginning of an ambitious care cycle for the year 2026. As explained by the specialist, it is planned to hold at least two or three additional days in the coming months with the intention not only of meeting current care goals, but also of expanding the capacity to respond to children's surgical demand in the area.
