Ministry of Health registered an increase of more than 30% in cases of COVID-19 in Panama

The Ministry of Health (MINSA)
of Panama reported that in the first week of January, seven people died from COVID-19 have been
registered.
In this regard, the health agency explained that from December 31 to January 6, more than 2,600 cases were counted, which means an increase of 32.5% in contagion, unlike in the month of December, which remained at 10%.
“Seven deaths were recorded in week 1 and two in week 52, from December 24 to 30, 2023, for a cumulative of nine deaths, bringing the number of deaths across the country to 8,688 since the beginning of the pandemic,” said the health agency.
According to what was published on the TELESUR portal, the MINSA
published on its social networks the centers authorized in the Central American country
for the detection of the disease, while recommending maintaining the corresponding biosafety
measures to prevent contagion.
