Ministry of Sport receives the commission of the World Anti-Doping Organization

This Wednesday, the commission of the World Anti-Doping Organization (WADA) toured the facilities of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sport and the National Sports Institute (IND) to learn about the conditions of the athletes and to carry out a survey focused on anti-doping policies and practices, with the objective of improving the competitive environment and ensuring the integrity of Venezuelan sports.

Through a press release from the ministerial portfolio, it became known that the WADA delegation consisted of the manager of Mobilization and Development, Ángela Ramírez and the manager of the Latin American and Caribbean Office, Federico Perroni, while accompanied by the Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Franklin Cardillo, together with the president of the Venezuelan National Anti-Doping Commission, Jean Carlos Contreras.

The commission met with Minister Franklin Cardillo, to revalidate the legal obligation of the Venezuelan State and the sports movement to comply with the statutes of the World Anti-Doping Organization and the National Anti-Doping Commission, in order to strengthen the anti-doping system with the training of athletes, coaches, technical personnel and authorities.

“We confirm the Venezuelan government's commitment, hand in hand with the World Anti-Doping Organization and the Venezuelan Anti-Doping Commission, to join this international movement against doping and fair play to build the paths that allow us to go to our international events in the best way,” said Cardillo, quoted by the ministry's press.
