With the objective of strengthening the diversification of the productive model in the Urimán sector of
the municipality of Gran Sabana, Bolivar state, the Minister
of Popular Power for Tourism, Daniella Cabello held a meeting to
evaluate the plan for economic transition and sustainable ecotourism development.
The day was attended by the Deputy Minister for Habitat, Lands and Community Development with the identity
of the indigenous peoples, Marianny Romero, and authorities of the original
communities, with whom the development plan was discussed and evaluated, in
the Yunwaru Falls (Iturika River) and the Aprada
Tepuy, which contemplates the construction of a Urimán airstrip, designed as a logistics point for tourist deployment in the area.
It was also proposed to design routes that guarantee sovereignty
and jurisdictional security.
“We applaud the interest in
promoting, through motor tourism, new ways of positioning the natural and cultural
beauties of the area. We are confident that these
proposals will attract new investments to consolidate the
tourist offer in the state,” said Minister Cabello, quoted in a press release.
For
his part, the coordinator of the Special Indigenous Jurisdiction (JEI),
Carlos Somera, explained that the plan seeks to strengthen the certification of tour
operators with the support of the JEI and the Pemón tourism agency.
Dijo that in the second and third phases of the project,
infrastructures with low environmental impact will be implemented, which will strengthen the
promotion of unconventional destinations.
Con these
actions, the National Executive integrates the voices of the
ancestral communities in the construction of an exportable offer.
This project positions Venezuela at the forefront of nature tourism,
where ecosystem protection and social welfare go hand in hand.
