In a joint effort of the three levels of government, the new iron bridge was inaugurated in the San Javier sector, in the San Felipe municipality of Yaracuy state, the Government of this entity reported.
It specifies that the infrastructure replaces a previous building that has already been demolished to fulfill its useful life and restores safe and direct passage for more than 20,000 inhabitants of the rural axis of the capital of Yaracuyana.
The governor of Yaracuy, Leonardo Intoci, mentioned that the work directly benefits the General Manuel Cedeño Commune, which brings together nine communal councils, most of them important agricultural areas.
“We are happy with this extraordinary work, completed thanks to road management (...) It is a project that came to fruition with the coordination between the government, the Ministry for Transport and the capital's mayor's office,” he said.
He explained that the new structure is a high-strength prefabricated model that consists of more than 46 linear meters and includes a pedestrian walkway and double guardrail, which guarantees not only vehicle traffic but also the safety of walkers.
The spokesman for the General Commune Manuel Cedeño, Luis Ramos, said that works like these are only possible in revolution and the efforts made by national, regional and local authorities to make them a reality.
For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, stressed that the bridge represents a milestone for the Yaracuy highway and took the opportunity to provide a balance sheet of transport management for the year 2025, with 91% of the goals of the Road Care Plan being met.
Among the national figures highlighted by the head of transport, the installation of more than 1,830,000 tons of asphalt and the rehabilitation of 6,500 kilometers of agricultural roads stand out.
“This bridge in Yaracuy is part of that commitment that we will continue to deepen in 2026 to strengthen terrestrial connectivity,” he said.
