The Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Jacqueline Faria, and the governor of the state of Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez, held a meeting with Deputy Minister Carlos Farías, at which they agreed to support road projects, including the construction of the road to Gavilán, in the Cataniapo basin.

At the meeting, it was decided to prioritize the recovery of streets and roads in the state, projects presented by the communities in the seven consultations carried out previously.

Rodríguez indicated that these projects represent a significant advance, especially that of the highway to Gavilán, “which is a very complex project but with a great impact on the development of our indigenous peoples who produce the basin,” he said.

Another topic discussed was the need to expand flight frequencies to the Amazon as part of what will be the New Amazon and to open ways to solve a historic problem such as opening communications with the state of Bolivar.

The governor also noted that the Ministry of People's Power for Transportation will provide all the necessary support to promote these road works, which respond directly to the requests of communities seeking to optimize urban mobility in the state.

He stressed that the meeting highlighted the progress achieved so far, with the projects approved to the People's Power in the 7 popular consultations held, and where the issue of asphalting and road recovery has been prioritized by our people.
