Within the framework of Productive Wednesdays, Alix Forero, Deputy Minister of Agrourban Productive Development and Vice President of the Venezuelan Corporation for Urban and Periurban Agriculture (CVAUP), led a deployment to serve several Agrourban Production Centers (CPA) located in the state of Aragua.
The day of the Ministry of Popular Power of Urban Agriculture (MINPPAU) began with the inspection of the La Limonera CPA, located in the Mata Seca sector, El Limón, Mario Briceño Iragorry municipality, from where Forero explained that this Production Center has an area of 5,500 square meters, and has a farmhouse of 800 square meters, “of which we have reviewed its conditions for the construction of the project to achieve its operability,” he said.
He stressed that there are also 34 1x11 meter beds, and currently chives, zucchini, carrot and cassava are being planted, among other things.
For his part, Gleis Cabello, a field technician at said CPA, assured that this socio-productive space is available to communities, in order to promote training, “to multiply the productive experiences with which we can self-supply”.
Another of the places visited by Deputy Minister Forero, together with her work team, was the CPA Valle de Onota, located in the Las Delicias sector of the Girardot municipality, who were greeted by the field technician Trina Rumbos. “It's a joy to be able to share the potential of this 3.5 ha CPA for food sovereignty,” Rumbos said.
In addition, David Páez, state director of the MINPPAU in the Aragueña entity, mentioned that the Onota Valley CPA “houses four 800-square-meter farmhouses and a 400-square-meter seedlings house, where paprika is also being produced.”
It is important to note that red carrots, gherkins and turmeric are planted in the open field of the aforementioned center.
