MINTUR presents “Venezuela Hub” platform Nueva Esparta chapter

The Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Daniella Cabello, together with the governor of Nueva Esparta, Marisel Velásquez, presented the multisectoral platform “Venezuela Hub”, Nueva Esparta chapter, from the Venetur Margarita hotel.

The activity, aimed at service providers, investors and public companies, seeks to strengthen the nation's strategic positioning and the island's connective advantages with Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

During the meeting, the owner of the tourism portfolio presented a balance sheet on connectivity and infrastructure and reported that the international air frequency amounted to 149 weekly flights, coming from countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Turkey, Barbados, among others.

Cabello emphasized the interest of the shipping companies MSC Cruises, Estela Shipping and Carnival Cruises to reactivate operations and invest in the entity. In the same way, he reported on the approaches with the German tour operators Dertour and DRV, and the Canadian company Sunwing Vacations, who expressed an interest in concluding agreements under a multi-destination promotion scheme, which promotes inbound and luxury tourism.

The Minister added that jointly, and in an articulated effort between the different competent public institutions, a plan will be implemented that will optimize public services, as well as work to adapt the Santiago Mariño International Airport and the recovery of the Pampatar pier, which is already in progress.

In addition, he indicated that the construction of the Simplicio Rodríguez promenade is planned; he also highlighted the development of beach clubs and the expansion of the SunSol and Hesperia chains.

Within the framework of the Venezuela Hub strategy, Mintur presented the Tourism Investment Catalogue and invited attendees to be part of this instrument given the multiple advantages in terms of attracting domestic and foreign investment.
