Miranda Governorate serves 98 families in Petare after the Guaire River flooded

In an immediate response to the effects caused by the intense rainfall of the last few hours, authorities from the Government of Miranda State and the Mayor's Office of the Sucre municipality led a deployment of comprehensive care in the La Línea sector of the Petare parish, after the overflow of the Guaire River, which directly impacted 98 families in the area.

The institutional tour began early in the La Línea III community, belonging to the Comuna Comandante Eterno, where social protection and infrastructure teams evaluated the material damage suffered by the community, the Government of Miranda reported on its website.

During the day, the authorities heard first-hand the most urgent needs of the inhabitants and coordinated the priority delivery of essential supplies for the recovery of their homes.

As part of the social approach, a direct delivery of basic supplies was carried out to restore family operations in flooded buildings.

It specifies that the supplies distributed include beds, mattresses, basic appliances such as refrigerators and cookers, as well as toilet kits and other essential items to re-equip the most vulnerable homes.

In parallel with the distribution of supplies, an extensive medical-care day led by health personnel from the region was activated. During the operation, adults and children received primary medical care, nutritional evaluation, cures and free supply of essential medicines to prevent outbreaks or health complications resulting from contact with rainwater.

The Civil Protection and Fire Department of Miranda State maintained an active presence in the area carrying out sanitation, mud removal and disinfection of affected common areas and homes.

These preventive actions seek to ensure optimal living conditions and avoid epidemiological risks among the inhabitants of the sector.

For his part, the governor of Miranda, Elio Serrano, reported on the care actions carried out in the Sucre municipality after the passage of intense rainfall, stressing that the crews of the Government of Miranda and the local mayor's office remain permanently deployed in the most vulnerable areas of Petare.

He assured that the main focus of action has been the removal of sediments, the removal of main roads and the preventive monitoring of streams and causes of water to prevent further flooding that puts the popular sectors of the parish at risk.

In this regard, Serrano emphasized that families who suffered flooding in their homes or loss of equipment are being directly addressed through social assistance and civil protection teams.

The governor specified that technical evaluations are continuing at critical points in Petare to diagnose possible damage to housing infrastructure and coordinate the delivery of emergency supplies and repair materials for the prompt restoration of normality in the community.

Given the intensity of the rainfall recorded in the Petare parish over the past few hours, Deputy Pedro Infante, as responsible for the Antonio José de Sucre Plan, has coordinated the deployment of emergency commissions in the sectors with the greatest vulnerability.

He assured that through working together with Civil Protection, firefighters and the organized People's Power, permanent monitoring tasks have been activated.
