‎El regional president emphasized that this initiative is not a gesture of weakness, but rather a constitutional tool to achieve peace, considering that it is a historic need to overcome the cycles of confrontation that have affected the country.

‎ “We are here as responsible for the destiny of a people. When the future is at stake, politics ceases to be competition and becomes moral responsibility. Politics must be elevated to conduct reconciliation processes,” said Serrano.

‎El governor stressed that the Constitution defines Venezuela as a State of justice, where pluralism is not a concession, but an essence.
‎Recalcó that reconciliation does not mean impunity, clarifying that crimes against life, humanity or sovereignty cannot be subject to amnesty, because peace must rest on the basis of law.

‎Serrano Carpio called for rejecting hate as a political tool, recalling the events of violence since 2013 that left victims in the entity. He assured that the objective is to inherit to new generations a nation where no one is persecuted for their thinking and where diversity is seen as a democratic strength.

‎El regional leader highlighted that this initiative, promoted by the national Legislature, represents the capacity of Venezuelans to resolve differences with sovereignty. “Reconciling is not a substitute for justice, it is harmonizing coexistence so that the debate is an exercise of peace and not a reason for social rupture,” he concluded.

‎En the debate was attended by opposition mayors such as Gustavo Duque (Chacao) and Darwin González (Baruta).

‎Duque urged that the process be a true reconciliation that listens to the victims, while advocating true reconciliation that recognizes the mistakes of all parties and avoids the radicalism that prevents progress.
