Misión Cultura trains animators for recreation in temporary camps

Animators of the Cultural Mission in San Bernardino Parish, Caracas, participated in the workshop How to Tell Stories, given by educator Martha González, with the purpose of strengthening their tools for recreation and training in temporary camps during the vacation season.

The activity, promoted by the National Book Center (CENAL), addressed techniques such as the narrative structure in three acts, the management of body expression, the management of group dynamics, the dramatization and the characterization of characters, according to the organizers, according to a press release from Venezolana de Televisión.

González explained that the workshop seeks animators to expand their knowledge of the art of storytelling to offer a greater number of activities in the camps. “Through stories, we can learn about our culture and connect with positive emotions,” said the facilitator.

For her part, Haydeé Montes, responsible for the Cultural Mission in San Bernardino, highlighted the importance of carrying out activities with a pedagogical approach through the articulated work of communes and communal circuits. Jhony Acosta, from the parish's cultural office, urged “multiplying this very important experience” to expand the promotion of reading in communities across the country.

The day culminated with the reading and dramatization of stories written by the participants themselves, who will soon incorporate this proposal into the cultural agenda of the Route of Hope. The initiative is part of the National Bicentennial Reading Plan, aimed at encouraging reading habits in children and young people.
