The president of Misión Nevado, Maigualida Vargas, reported that so far “we have 608 pets, including dogs and cats, which are under our protection, but the balance is much higher.”

In a special program on Venezolana de Televisión, he assured that organizations, volunteers, veterinary doctors and the Security Corps themselves transport rescued companion animals and protect a large number of animals that were also affected by the earthquakes.

Vargas extended an invitation to all people who received an animal in their homes to prepare the respective posters (with the photo) and disseminate the publications on their social networks and made available the digital platforms of Misión Nevado to contribute to the dissemination of these cases.

“We are in a phase where a lot of families are going to the different areas of the Nevado Mission to look for their animals, which ran away at the time or couldn't find them,” he said.

For this reason, he urged citizens to make the respective poster with the photo of the copy, the contact telephone number and the place where it was found when safeguarding an animal.

Vargas emphasized the importance of rescue efforts. “I make this important call, because during the rescue tasks, there was a lot of joy to see the rescue of a living person; it was also moving to the rescue of some animal that had already been under the rubble for days.”

He also recognized the great solidarity demonstrated, “the residents of the sector and family members who were waiting to search for other relatives offered themselves many opportunities to protect the rescued animals”

He thanked the supportive management and commitment in those difficult times.
