The Trujillo City Council and Mayor's Office declared Mojito Trujillano as a Cultural and Gastronomic Heritage of the city, with the objective of preserving culinary traditions and promoting the region's ancient cuisine.

The announcement was made by Mayor Carlos Terán, who reported that the measure is formalized by Ordinance 4934, according to information from Venezolana de Televisión.

As part of this initiative, Terán organized the first Trujillano Mojito Festival, which will take place on May 16 in the La Plazuela sector, with the participation of 25 teams made up of three members each.

The event will include a cultural program with musical performances, traditional exhibitions and awards for the winners, in addition to the participation of digital content creators.

The activity has the support of regional institutions and a jury that will evaluate aspects such as technique, use of ingredients, presentation and hygiene, in a day aimed at exalting the local gastronomic identity.
