Monagas health and safety authorities fine-tune details for National Sports Games

On the occasion of the XXI of the National Youth Sports Games “Oriente 2024", health and safety authorities in the state of Monagas fine-tune details for the sports event, which will take place from November 08 to 28 in the states of Monagas, Anzoátegui and Sucre, as the main venues.

The entity's single health authority, Yérika Alzolay, reported that the team of medical professionals will consist of 142 doctors and an equal number of paramedics, who will have six ambulances with basic support, one with advanced support and 10 motorcycles.

The health personnel will be working under a guard system together with 134 drivers ready for ambulances and motorcycles in six health homes.

Alzolay, who also heads the health area within the Organizing Committee of this sporting event, specified that for this purpose they will have four public and two private health centers, although, in the same way, the rest of the healthcare centers in Monagas, which exceed 500, will be ready to offer assistance.

Medical care will be provided, in the first instance, at the Monagas Sports Science Care Center (Cenacademo), in the Type III Urban Outpatient Clinic “Dr. José María Vargas” and at the Simón Bolívar and Manuel Núñez Tovar Hospitals. In the private sector, there are the Isamic a and Victoria Clinics.

In addition, at a working meeting, led by the Secretary of Prevention and Public Safety, Eduardo Almérida Padrón, he reported that 2,360 officials will be deployed as part of the security plan for the aforementioned sporting event.

He stressed the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants and attendees at this Olympic event, reaffirming the institution's commitment within the framework of the Great Quadrants for Peace Mission.

In this regard, he commented that “this is the city that will host the largest number of sports disciplines for 16 days”.

“The safety device will guarantee the protection of property and the athletes and visitors who come to enjoy these sports games, just as we will do so at the Monagas Agricultural Fair 2024, which will be held in La Concha Acústica,” he said.
