The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, ratified diplomacy in relations with the United States (USA) as the right path, following the attacks of last January 3 against the country.
During the closing of the International Colloquium Patria es América, from the Teresa Carreño Theater, within the framework of the Bicentennial of the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress, the president in charge highlighted the historical contradiction faced by the Latin American unity promoted by the Liberator Simon Bolivar.
“There was always a contradiction, Bolivar knew it. Bolívar knew that faced with the project of union, of integration, of a political expansion based on our equalities, there was also the manifest destiny and the historical contradiction that accompanies us today. And that this contradiction translates today into American exceptionalism versus the idea of creating a true union,” he explained.
In this regard, he pointed out that the Liberator knew that “just as this movement was developing in our independence, sovereign and self-determination Latin America, the historical contradiction clashed with manifest destiny and the Monroe doctrine and its different interpretations. To this day.”
In this regard, Rodríguez indicated that “January 3, 2026, marked an inflection in national politics and in our vision of international relations, of resuming diplomatic path with the United States government,” and emphasized that almost 6 months later “it has been the right path.”
“Resolve disputes, settle differences, that exist, that exist, through diplomatic space and guarantee the tranquility, peace, sovereignty and independence of Venezuela,” he said.
